Long Stay

Those who stay for more than 15 days will be offered discount of 10 %. Those staying more than 21 days will be offered discount of 15% and those staying more than a month 25% of the quoted rates. These offers are ideal for writers, artist and for those who would like to undergo Ayurvedic treatment for a long period. In fact for anyone with a long break in mind.

Cookery Workshop

We have worked out a programme for a cookery holiday, so that, you can combine your holiday with insights and lessons in Kerala cooking / cuisine. The type of cooking you will be exposed to, is predominantly with a Christian influence, ie, plenty of meat and fish preparations as well as other vegetarian dishes and also the little family touches passed down over the generations.

When Available all year. Usually limited to one class / session per day. This could be either before lunch or before dinner.

Period of Stay Ideally a minimum of at least 3 to 4 days. A week would be fine.

Some Sample Appam (rice based bread) - chicken stew - duck

Dishes curry and roast - iddi appam (string hoppers) - egg roast - puttu - curd curries - fish molee - Kerala fish curry - Kerala fish fry - vegetable thorans - avial (another veg. dish) - chutneys - traditional desserts - etc.

Other Details

• Classes are participatory.
• A small recipe booklet is provided.
• Can help in buying any special utensils required for carrying back.
• Farm fresh spices available for purchase.
• Can suggest other places for a different kind of cooking exposure. (eg. Muslim / Malabar cuisine of North Kerala. )

Painting Holiday

A holiday with painting as the theme or focus can be put together. It can be for a couple to a small group of 5 to 6 people. Various locations other than our property can be considered and put into the programme. There are excellent places that can be inspiring for artists. At Mannaas Veedu you can get inspired to paint and sketch from the farm and the surroundings, the village and rural country side

My interests are in water colours and a little of oil painting and can participate with groups if needed and time permitting

Cost Nothing in particular except the tour costs, hiring of boats, cost of materials and cost of hiring a local artist (approximately USD $10 to $20 per day) if needed. When Available all year. Timings flexible. A proper schedule can be worked out if needed.

Other Details

• A small studio facility can be set up.
• Better to bring your own materials and equipment. If required basic materials are available locally.
• Local artists can be hired to participate, help or guide.
• Other locations like hill stations,and activities like wildlife trek, mountain trek, outdoor camping etc. can be considered.
• A small collection of resource books on painting, drawing and sketching are available at the property.

Lunch by arrangement

We offer lunch to guests who is travelling enroute Kovalam & Periyar. This is strictly by prior arrangement only. No walk in guests are entertained for lunch. This offer would include a welcome drink, farm tour, snacks, beverages (at additional cost), soup, lunch, dessert and tea / coffee. Approximate time guests spend on the premises is about 1 to 2 hours. Rates available on request.

Theme lunch for groups

We do theme lunch for groups up to 40 persons maximum. We have done group lunch with a traditional Kerala wedding theme. Rates available on request, depending upon the exact requirement.
